Black, Pink and Scarlett

Success! (Almost.) Over the weekend I worked on Shawn's sweater. I had received the last three skeins of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino from Ebay on Friday. So I decided to get my butt in gear. I finished the sleeves, and nearly scared myself when I realized maybe three skeins wasn't enough. Luckily, it was. Shawn preferred not to have the rolled up collar, so I did a K3, P2 ribbing for the neck. (I did about 1 1/2" for the collar.) Unfortunately when he tried it on the collar was about an 1" too short for him. Also, when I had him "fitted" the woman at the LYS took the measurements for me. Well, she measured wrong. So his sleeves are a bit too long (about 3" too long). I am thinking of folding them in and "hemming" them so that they are a decent length. We are going out on Saturday night to see "X Men: The Last Stand" and to eat at Maggiano's, and I'd like him to wear the sweater. I better get on the ball. Or skein.

On to some pretty good news. Last Saturday I realized I was late. Really late. I took an e.p.t. test Saturday morning. The test was positive! I have heard so many stories about "false positives", so I went to my Dr. on Tuesday morning for a verification. I am 5 weeks, 3 days pregnant. Already I've started making something for my baby, hoping that we will have a girl. Of course, I won't know the gender for another 11 weeks, but I just have that feeling. So I started this Debbie Bliss shawl in her book, "Special Knits". The dress I posted a week or so ago is also in this book. I am using the 8 skeins of Rowan 4 ply Cotton.

Here is a close up of the first 28 rows or so. The first 4 rows are seed stitch. Then as you knit up you work st st but the edges have a triangular shape.

It's being knit on US3 needles.Seems like it may take forever, but I have until January 22. 2007. I could get it done, right?

And of course, my Scarlett girl! I love my baby. Dalton has been running around outside and sunbathing, so I don't have a picture of him right now. I love my furbabies.
