Not much has been going on lately. Yet, a lot has been going on too. (An oxymoron, I know.) I am still working on the Elongated Cable Socks for "Knitty Gritty". (Just a few more days til the taping.) But I've also been working on Shawn's Christmas blanket. Since he decided to open his gift before Christmas, I decided I needed to get this finished so he had something under the tree. He says he doesn't care, he ♥ his DVD player, but all the same...
It reminds me of train tracks for some reason. I'm only on the third skein, but I am making progress. (Only 7 more to go, since he wanted it extra long
and extra wide.)
Yesterday I decided it was time to take the plunge and get the sleeves on the
Blue Sky Alpacas Lacy Dress for the baby.
And voila! I've gotten one done. I picked up 60 sts instead of the 72 sts. I don't know how they managed to pick up 72 sts on US 3's. It just couldn't be done! I also had to go down to a US 2 DPN to ensure that I'd be able to get all the stitches. I started the second sleeve, but after a night of pregnancy aches and pains, I didn't finish it. Hopefully today.
Shawn and I have noticed that Scarlett has been a
really big baby lately. She follows us
everywhere. Literally, everywhere. She paws on the bathroom door if you close it. She whines if she gets locked out of the bedroom. She sits next us to when we eat dinner, (which drives Shawn crazy). And she sits at the garage door when she hears the car pull up. Beware if you don't walk through the door fast enough for her!
One.
Big.
Baby.
But we still love her.
I had to save the best for last!
My Sockret Pal is wonderful! I received a package this morning, (my second)! There were two skeins of Lorna's Laces in Icehouse, two skeins of Sugar and Cream yarn (which I am going to make a baby hat or two out of), a mini notebook with pen, mini notecards, Santa Claus soap and a variety bag of Lindt Lindor Truffles (which I will have to hide from Shawn and Jem). I have to say that I'm really happy with this swap. I have had great communication with my swapper and my swappee!
Everything else is going ok. I've had a hard time dealing with the aches and pains that my body is dealing with. And the fatigue! Add the hormones. I just don't feel like me. *sigh* But through it all, I'm coping. Wanna hear something sweet? The other night Shawn and I were laying in bed and I asked, "What are you thinking?" He replied, "That I wish the baby was here already." I know he's getting excited, (though probably not about the C Section). He told me to pack my hospital bag and he'd put the bassinett together. So now all we have are some finishing touches and 5 weeks and 5 days of waiting!

Thanks for visiting my blog!! I like the blanket you're doing for Shawn. And, the baby garment from Blue Sky - very pretty! Hope the next 5 weeks pass smoothly for you.
How exciting! Even if there's a lot of aches and pains to go along with it.
Your dog cracks me up--mine used to cry at the bathroom door too--I brought her with me to visit my parents, and it drove them nuts! Who knew pit bulls could be so clingy?
Your dog is too funny. My cats acted like HUGE babies before my son was born!! I'm sure that these next 5 weeks will pass quickly and you'll have a new bundle of joy in your hands before you know it!!
I love the baby garment and the blanket - very ambitious for Christmas!
