Today was a G.O.O.D Day

Yup. It was good. Today was good.
Scout is a wonderful sleeper, let me tell you! (I know that I'm probably jinxing myself right now, but that's ok.) Last night she ate around 11:00 p.m. Shawn said it would be "great" if she slept a good 6 hours, (he has work at 5:00 a.m., or I should say he needs to be up by 5). Well she didn't sleep six hours. She woke up at 2 a.m. because her BoBo (pacifier) fell out of her mouth. Instantly went back to sleep. (I should say that she wasn't hungry either, because she pigged out on FIVE ounces of milk for dinner!) She woke up at 4 a.m. and ate. She went right back to sleep and slept next to me til 8 a.m. It's nice getting a few, consistent, hours of sleep sometimes. Even if it's not every night. I'm good with once in a while.
It gets better. Oh yeah. Well sort of. Shawn overslept. Which really isn't a good thing when you really think about it, but that's ok too. He decided to drive into work, instead of hitching a ride with his coworker. Well, the car started to smoke up a bit on the freeway. Needless to say he turned around and came home. So I got to spend the day with my favorite man in the whole wide world. And you know what we did? Nothing. And that was good too!
And to save the (nearly) best part.

Those are yummy, moist, delicious Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Thanks to my very ingenious grandmother who is better than Tyler Florence (though not better looking), Paula Deen and Rachael Ray put together. Don't believe me? Well you don't have to. All I know is that my grandma Barbara has made my "make the best chocolate chip cookie" goal a reality! I'll even share the recipe!
1 C. Butter or Margarine
1 C. Brown Sugar (packed)
1/2 C. White Sugar
2 Eggs
2 TBS Milk
2 tsp Vanilla
1 3/4 C. Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
2 1/2 C. Oatmeal
1 12 oz. package Chocolate Chips
*1 C Chopped Pecans (optional)*
Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat well. Add flour and baking soda. Stir in oats, chips and nuts. Drop approximately 1 TBS of dough on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 9-10 minutes (I did 8-9) at 375 degrees. Cool for 1 minute before removing to rack. Makes about 5 dozen. (If you don't eat them all as they come off the pans!)
I've also been doing some internet browsing and came across Madisson by Louet. Pretty ain't she?

So I'm thinking if I ever get around to doing some buying and maybe some knitting, I would do it in their MerLin (which comes in Sport Weight or Worsted Weight), a Linen and Wool blend in Neptune:

Or Aqua:
Not sure which, but both colors are beautiful.

And to end the evening, well so far since it's only 6:45 p.m. here in California:

Scout and her daddy. She so easily slips into a milk coma after her big burp. She gets her burping from her daddy. I love them both. They make my days so good.

Delurking to say, awwwwww. So cute. You did better in sleep than I did last night. My lil girl (who just turned one) is getting her big bad molars, so we had a rough night. Thanks for the recipe, I might have to check that out this weekend. :)

Sounds so nice! You are sounding so great, so happy. Glad you're not experiencing any postpartum!

They are so adorable together! Awwwwww. You do sound so happy, I have to second, now that I think about it!

I wouldn't be able to choose between those Merlin colors either! Flip a coin?
