Tuesday Afternoon

There is nothing greater than a three day weekend, (four for my son).

There is nothing greater than waking up next to Shawn, three mornings in a row, (and a little bit later than normal which I'm glad to say).

There is nothing greater than having a day of quiet and solitude, (save the new vocal sounds acquired and practiced by Scout).

So that was my day, today. Tuesday. The day after Monday. The day before Wednesday.

After the usual morning routine, (you know: laundry, make bed, feed the cat, wash dishes, put toys away, change and feed Scout, take a shower, blah, blah, blah...), I worked on my Hogwarts Sock Swap Pals socks. She's a Gryffindor. And actually, I started them last night but had a chance to work on them today. Along with the Flood Sweater.

Plus, I started a new book. "French Women for All Seasons". I read the first book, "French Women Don't Get Fat" and ♥'d it. There's something reassuring about not being the perfectly built size -00 that American society so loves. I finished "Amityville Horror" lastnight and wanted to share that I changed my mind: It would not be cool to live in a haunted house. (Unless the ghosts were friendly. Like Casper. Maybe.)

Along with knitting and book reading, Scout and I took a trip to the pool. Not to swim. But to sit. She babbled and fell asleep while I flipped through some pattern books that I haven't set my eyes on in a while. Our neighbors, (our nice neighbors), are moving back to Seattle at the end of July and I was hoping to make each kid a scarf or something. BUT, there are three kids and so little knitting time as it is. Maybe I'll make them and send them off for Christmas?

Scout says "hi" and "gimme your finger, I want a taste". Teething here we come!

I really really like the Gryfindor colors. They're so cheerful! I haven't read either of those books, but I may have to find them at the library, and see what they're like. Anyway, glad you had a good weekend!

Oh my! That is one cute kid.

You should frame that picture and hang it on the wall. You should enter that picture in a contest. You should hold on to that picture so you can embarass the hell out of Scout when she gets older.

You should hold that picture and that moment close to your heart, because it will not come again.

Blessings (although it appears you have already been blessed greatly!)

I love having the house to myself! Oh, if only it would happen more often.
