I want to be a better blogger

I really do. I try so hard, but I find that pictureless posts are pretty boring. Who wants to read a bunch of writing? Pictures help us visualize, am I right? So with that said, I tend to post only when I have pictures. It's not that my life is boring (or is it?) or that I don't have something to say (is that even possible?). It's just that I don't want to bore you with just words.

So this is what I am working on today. (You see, it says "today".) And to answer your question, no I have not finished the Sweet Pea Sacque. I did pick up the neck edges for the front and back of the bodice, but I have yet to knit beyond that. The shoulder extensions still have me a little confused. I will really need to sit down and baste and all that good stuff. So I've put it aside for a day or three.

Featured below is the Caftan Pullover in the Spring 2006 Interweave Press Magazine. Sorry for the blurry and small photo, but I couldn't enlarge it without the pixels being disturbed. Anywhoo, I started this a while ago. I decided it was time to work on it some more, before I was *too* pregnant and couldn't wear it. But I think the Debbie Bliss Cathay yarn will make it suitable for anytime wear. It's a cotton/silk blend and it hangs pretty well. Quite stretchy. I'm hoping that it will fit. I knit this according to bust size if anything. As you can see, the bust size is somewhat important here. I don't want it to be too clingy or have the fabric drape too much.

And here is what I have so far. I think I am on row 19 of the Front Insert chart. A few more rows and then I will do the side and armhole shaping. Soon I will be doing the inserts and after that I will have sleeves. I am really excited now! I haven't worked on this for a while so it seems like it's new-again.

I just realized that the yarn looks like it's a bit variegated. I'll assure you, it's not. (I am really not too into variegated yarns. Maybe for socks, but not a sweater.) It's the lighting on my digi camera. My apartment is hopelessly dark. Which I ♥! I like my place being dark. I love lighting candles. BUT, it's "hopelessly dark" when I try to take photos inside. I rarely take my work outside to photograph because it's dirty. I don't have a nice lush garden or some cozy grass in which I could walk around barefoot. (The pitfalls of an apartment building huh?) Anywhoo, the yarn is called Inky. I think. That's what it reminded me of anyway, like the dark blue ink in a pen. I ♥ it.

That's a great pattern! I've had my eye on it. A member of my SnB had a finished one and it was gorgeous!

I find that I'm more likely to read the text when there aren't pictures, but I agree with you - I still feel like I need pictures to blog.
